”Connect to a Cause” Fundraiser

Black River Audubon Society is excited to participate in the county-wide crowdsourcing event, Connect to a Cause. The one-day event raises money for non-profit organizations throughout the county with donations matched up to 18% by event Business Champions. Your donation helps in three ways— 25% is put into our endowment, 75% is added to the current budget (for projects like Motus) and your total donation is increased by as much as 18% by local businesses.

Motus Wildlife Tracking System

Help us advance bird conservation with MOTUS technology! By contributing to our MOTUS tower fund, you're supporting vital research that tracks bird migration patterns, identifies critical habitats, and informs conservation strategies. MOTUS towers are essential for monitoring the movements of small birds and other animals-- even insects. Your donation will directly impact our ability to protect these creatures and their habitats. Join us in making a difference for bird conservation today!

Every $50 funds the data cost of the two stations for one month.

With over 500 members, Black River Audubon has been active in the community with a wide variety of activities, concentrating on education, conservation, and advocacy.

The mission of the Black River Audubon Society is to promote conservation and restoration of ecosystems, focusing on birds and other wildlife, through advocacy and education.

How to Participate

We are thrilled to inform you that we’re participating in Connect to a Cause, a 12-hour crowdfunding campaign hosted by the Community Foundation of Lorain County. And guess what? We need your help to make it a success!

On September 19, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., you can support our cause by donating through Connect to a Cause. Whether it’s cash, check, or online, every donation counts and will allow us a chance to receive additional bonus dollars. Plus, it’s an excellent opportunity to show your support for our mission and make a real difference in our community.
